Sektion Basel

Almost one hundred women artists from Basel and its region are members of the SGBK Basel section. With the 2012 Equal Opportunities Award received by the cantons of Basel-City and Basel-Country, the SGBK Basel section has gained a high public profile.

Therefore, we feel obliged towards the individual artists to make their works known. The Basel section runs its own exhibition space  S G B K  K U N S T  R A U M  for solo and group exhibitions at Spalenvorstadt 18 in Basel. Works by SGBK members from all over Switzerland are regularly exhibited here.
The open ateliers of women artists, organised and held every year across Switzerland by the Basel section, have already become a tradition. Regular meetings of women artists are set up for networking and personal exchange purposes.

The Basel section is a member of DOCK Basel (art space, archive, and lending service of the artists and for the artists from the city and region of Basel), VKB (Cultural Association of Basel-Country) and ARK (Archive of Regional Artists' Bequests, Basel).
